Alabama Women’s Basketball Heads to Florida for SEC Road Matchup

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team (10-4, 0-1 SEC) will play its first Southeastern Conference road game of the season on Thursday when it takes on the Florida Gators (8-6, 0-1 SEC) in Gainesville. Tip is set for 6 p.m. CT in Exactech Arena.

• Thursday's game will stream live on SEC Network + via the WatchESPN app.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• Alabama will be playing in its first Southeastern Conference road game of the season and first road game since Dec. 1 when it heads to Florida for Thursday's tilt.
• UA enters the game with a 2-1 record in true road games, picking up wins at Georgia Southern and Lipscomb before dropping its contest at TCU.
• Last time out, the Crimson Tide dropped its SEC opener by six to No. 16/16 Missouri, 62-56. Alabama cut its 16-point deficit down late in the fourth but ran out of time to complete the comeback.
SCOUTING ALABAMA
• Alabama enters Sunday's game with a 10-4 overall and an 0-1 mark in Southeastern Conference play.
• The Crimson Tide is led in scoring and rebounding by senior Hannah Cook, who averages 11.1 points and in rebounding by senior Ashley Williams, who contributes 6.7 boards per contest. Sophomore Jordan Lewis leads the way in assists with 3.6 per game.
• Sophomore Ashley Knight leads the team and ranks third in the SEC and 11th nationally in blocks per game with an average of 2.93.
• As a team, the Crimson Tide is averaging 69.3 points per game, 14.1 more than its opponents, and is outrebounding the opposition 43.0-36.9.
• After finishing the 2016-17 season last in the SEC in free throw percentage, Alabama has jumped up to fourth, hitting 72.6 percent of its attempts as a team.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
• Florida enters Thursday's game with an 8-6 record and an 0-1 mark in league play after dropping its SEC opener, 84-55, at Auburn.
• Florida is led in scoring by redshirt junior Funda Nakkasoglu, who averages 15.9 points per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the floor, while senior Haley Lorenzen leads the team in rebounds with 9.4 rebounds per contest.
• As a team, the Gators are averaging 73.1 points per game while allowing 69.1 to its opponents.
• Florida is 5-4 in home games.
• The Gators are coached by Cameron Newbauer, who is in his first year in Gainesville and fifth season overall as a head coach after having spent four seasons at Belmont. He was the 2016-17 OVC Coach of the Year and led the Bruins to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances.
