Why did you choose to come to Alabama?
"It was always my dream to attend the University of Alabama. I was raised an Alabama fan and I was not settling on going anywhere else. I love this school and always have. I actually used to want to be the punter for the football team. I would kick a football around for hours at a time."
Who inspired you to first start rowing?
"My parents told me to try out for as a walk-on for the rowing program here. I reluctantly listened, however I'm so glad I did listen to them."
What's your favorite team memory?
"My favorite team memory would have to be medaling my sophomore year at conference. It was something that had seemed so out of reach but was attained through the hard work and support of my teammates and coaches. We weren't expected to do well, let alone be that successful."
What's your funniest team memory?
"My funniest team memory would have to be Coach Tabitha [Tuten] falling off the launch into the river and scrambling like a wet cat to get back on. Very few saw this spectacle, but I was one of the fortunate few who did."
What is your life motto?
"I have two: 'It's hard to beat someone who never quits' and 'hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard'."
What advice would you give to your freshman self if you had the chance?
"My advice to my freshman self would be to pursue self-discipline every day in every situation."
What are your plans after graduation?
"Right now, I plan on working in some type of government work."
Any other closing comments?
"I would like to end a two-year team mystery…I ate Coach James [Mulcahy]'s special edition Canadian pop tarts in Boston."
