ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Alabama's all-girl cheerleading squad placed second at this weekend's UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship, while the coed team placed fourth and the dance team placed seventh in the hip hop category.
The Tide's all-girl team posted its second straight second-place finish in the Division IA category, having finished in the top three every year since winning a national title in 2015. Alabama's coed squad earned a four-place finish and the dance team placed seventh in the hip hop category.
The two-day competition took place at ESPN's Wide World of Sports. Teams from across the country participated in the prestigious event at HP Fieldhouse. Teams were judged based on stunting, tumbling skills, crowd-leading abilities and overall performance.
