Alabama Football Wraps Up Preparations for Home Opener with Fresno State

The Crimson Tide to meet the Bulldogs for the first time at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team wrapped up game plan preparations for Saturday's home opener, putting in two hours of helmets-only work at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.
The Thursday practice was the Tide's final workout prior this weekend's home opener against Fresno State. The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will be meeting for the first time in the history of the two programs. Fresno State led by Jeff Tedford, who is in his first year leading his alma mater. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs are scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff at Bryant-Denny Stadium on ESPN2, with Adam Amin, Anthony Becht and Rocky Boiman on the call.
Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick has been nominated for the 2017 Wuerffel Trophy. Named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel of Florida, the Wuerffel Trophy has been presented annually since 2005 to the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with academic and athletic achievement. Alabama's Barrett Jones was the 2010 recipient of the award.
