
Sam Fischer and Zhe Zhou Finish Day Two of Commodore Scramble

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama sophomore Zhe Zhou and freshman Sam Fischer completed day two of the Commodore Scramble on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. The two competed in two rounds of singles and a round of doubles.
Fischer earned his first win of the event, handling David Skrabut of Lipscomb in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. The Brentwood, Tenn., native fell in the next round to Drew Singerman of Furman, 7-5, 6-1. Fischer will finish out singles play tomorrow at 10 a.m., against Stewart Block of LSU.
Zhou fell in the winner's bracket of the 'A' Singles Draw to No. 25 Daniel Valent of Vanderbilt, before bouncing back with a win over Alejandro Manzanares of Lipscomb, 6-4, 6-3. Zhou will complete his singles play tomorrow against Cameron Green of Furman.
In doubles, Fischer/Zhou were defeated by Alejandro Manzanares/Jorge Ortegon of Lipscomb, 7-5. The two will complete doubles play against Tate Allwardt/Alex Ross of Vanderbilt tomorrow at 9 a.m.
The tournament is comprised of seven teams, including, Alabama, Auburn, Furman, Lipscomb, Louisville, LSU, and Vanderbilt.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday at 9 a.m., with a final flight of doubles and singles.
