Former Alabama players have solid performances on both sides of the ball
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The third week of the new season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the week-three highlights from former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
Mark Barron continued his impressive play in week three, tallying seven tackles to rank second on the team, as the Los Angeles Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 41-39, on Thursday Night Football. Barron is currently tied for the team lead in solo tackles with 17 through three games.
The Atlanta Falcons won their third game of the season, thanks in part to Julio Jones. The All-Pro wideout finished with seven catches and a team-high 91 receiving yards. Jones currently ranks fourth in the league in receiving yards, with 265 through the first three weeks.
Landon Collins posted his best game of the season, recording a season-high nine tackles and a forced fumble as the New York Giants fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-24. Collins paces the New York defense in total tackles with 22.
Defensive back Kareem Jackson had another solid outing for the Houston Texans, finishing with six stops to tie for second-most on the team in the Texans' 36-33 loss to the New England Patriots. Jackson currently leads the Houston defensive unit in solo tackles with 14 on the season.
The Baltimore defense was once again led in tackles by C.J. Mosley as the linebacker finished with eight stops in the Ravens' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 44-7. Mosley currently leads the Ravens defense in total tackles with 26 on the year.
Mark Ingram had his biggest game of the season, rushing 14 times for 56 yards while adding a pair of receptions for 30 yards in the New Orleans Saints' 34-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.
