Alabama Women’s Tennis Concludes Day Two at Rice Invitational

The Tide registers a 3-3 record in both doubles and singles play on day two
HOUSTON, Texas – Alabama women's tennis concluded day two at the Rice Invitational on Saturday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center in Houston, Texas. Three student-athletes remained undefeated in singles play while each doubles pairing split their matches, 1-1.
Sophomore Jacqueline Pelletier, freshman Kylie Moulin and senior Smith Hinton continued their winning streak in Houston defeating each of their opponents in singles play. Both Hinton and Moulin took down their contenders in straight sets while Pelletier outlasted Juliana Cardosa of USF in three with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 decision.
In doubles, Hinton and sophomore Kimberley Gintrand downed Ivana Babic and Alexandra Heczey of North Texas, 6-2, but slipped to UTA's pairing of Agustina Serio and Lucia Natal, 6-2, in the final round. Despite falling to their first opponents of the morning, the doubles team of junior Andie Daniell and sophomore Luca Fabian along with doubles duo Pelletier and Moulin bounced back to defeat their second contenders of the day 6-0 and 6-4 respectively.
The Crimson Tide will wrap up action at the Rice Invitational tomorrow with one round of singles play at 9 a.m. CT.
