
Crimson Tide in the NFL Spotlight: Week 2

Former Alabama players begin the new season excelling on both sides of the ball
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The second week of the new season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the week-two highlights from former Crimson Tide platers currently in the NFL. Â
A pair of former Crimson Tide standouts met in Atlanta, as Julio Jones welcomed the Green Bay Packers and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to town. Jones played a major role in the Falcons' 34-23 win over the Packers, hauling in five passes for 108 yards to mark his first 100-yard receiving game of the season. Opposite of Jones, Clinton-Dix finished with a team-leading six tackles in the loss to the Falcons.
Another pair of former Crimson Tide teammates played a large part in the Tennessee Titans' 37-16 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Running back Derrick Henry ran for a career-high 92 yards on 14 carries and scored his first touchdown of season. Fellow Titan Jalston Fowler also notched his first touchdown of the season, taking his lone carry of the game into the end zone for a three-yard score.
First-year defensive back Eddie Jackson provided a strong effort for the Chicago Bears, finishing with a team-high eight tackles including one tackle for loss, as the Bears fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 29-7. Opposing Jackson was tight end O.J. Howard, who in his rookie debut, tallied one reception for 17 yards.
The Baltimore defense was led by C.J. Mosley in the Ravens' decisive 24-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Mosley finished with a team-high 10 tackles in the contest, and currently leads the Ravens in total tackles with 18 through two games.
Defensive back Kareem Jackson put together another solid performance, finishing with a team-high eight tackles, including a sack and a forced fumble, to help lead the Houston Texans to a 13-9 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Mark Barron paced the Los Angeles Rams defense in solo tackles with 10, as the Rams fell to the Washington Redskins, 27-20. Barron currently ranks second on the team in solo stops with 11 on the season, just one off the team lead.
