Alabama Women’s Tennis Junior Andie Daniell Featured on ITA Women’s Singles Preseason Rankings

Daniell ranks 37th on the singles preseason rankings
TEMPE, Ariz. – Alabama women's tennis junior Andie Daniell enters the 2017 fall season ranked No. 37 on the Oracle ITA Division I Women's Singles Rankings, as announced by the association on Tuesday.
Last season, Daniell ended her sophomore campaign ranked at No. 71 in the final ITA singles standings and registered a 16-8 record in singles play. The Georgia native defeated two nationally ranked players in straight sets last year including No. 116 Joana Valle Costa from LSU (March 17) and No. 125 Akvile Parazinskaite from Kentucky (March 24).
Daniell also competed and advanced to the second round of the singles main draw at the Nashville Women's $25k Pro Tennis Classic, topping Julia Elbaba of the United States in three sets. Elbaba finished the 2015-16 season at Virginia ranked No. 13 in singles play.
In doubles, Daniell, along with two-time NCAA doubles champion Erin Routliffe, won the 2016 ITA Southern Regional Doubles Championship and the ITF 10k LTP Charleston Championship.
Alabama women's tennis kicks off the 2017-18 season at the Rice Invitational Sept. 22-24, while Daniell will head to Los Angeles, Calif. from Sept. 30-Oct. 8 to represent the Crimson Tide at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in singles.
