Alabama Swimming and Diving Adds Six to 2017-18 Roster

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama swimming and diving teams have added six more swimmers to the Crimson Tide's 2017-18 roster.
Those swimmer join the 22 swimmers and divers that Alabama added during the fall, for a total of 28 newcomers. A total of 14 student-athletes will join the men's team, including 12 swimmers and two divers, while 14 will become part of the women's team with 13 swimmers and one diver.
"This is an extraordinary class, one that, especially on the women's side, has the potential to take us to the next level on the national scene," UA head coach Dennis Pursley said. "We're excited to have them join the Crimson Tide and we can't wait to have them on campus."
Women
Flora Molnar, Freestyle, 5-9, Nagykanizsa, Hungary/Batthyany Lajos High School
- Swam for Hungary for the 2016 Rio Olympics, taking 25th in the 50-meter freestyle
- Named to Hungary's roster for the 2017 World Championships in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and as part of the 400m freestyle relay
- Swims for Polgar Sandor at South Sea Waterworks SE
Julia Kukla, Freestyle, 5-5, Korneuburg, Austria/Liese Prokop High School
- Three-time Austrian national champion
- Competed at the 2016 European Championships
- Swims for Balazs Fehévari at Sv Wörthersee
Sezin Eligul, Butterfly/Freestyle/IM, 5-7, Istanbul, Turkey/Istanbul High School
- Holds a number of Turkish National records
- Competed at the 2015 World Junior Championships and 2014 World Short Course Championships
- Swims for Ibrahim Aksoy at Fenebahae
Nicole Smith, Backstroke, 5-7, Hoover, Ala./ Hoover High School
- Finalist at the National Club Swimming Association Spring Championships
- Competed in the Grand Prix Arena USA Swimming and the Southeastern Championships
- Swims for Phillip Wood at Birmingham Swim League
Tori VanBuskirk, Backstroke, 5-6, Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo High School
- Two-year Florida High School State Championship 4A Finalist
- Member of the Florida All-Star Team
- Swam for Charlie Rose and Joe Auer at Blue Dolfins
Men
Max Kennedy-Till, Breaststroke, 6-3.5, Auckland, New Zealand/King's College
- Medalist in the 50-meter, 100m and 200m breaststroke at the 2015, 2016 and 2017 New Zealand National Age Group Championships
- Swims for Igor Polianski at United Swimming Club
