
Alabama Women's Tennis Welcomes Ann Selim to the 2017-18 Roster

Ann Selim, a Cairo, Egypt native, transfers to Alabama from Oklahoma
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Alabama women's tennis head coach jenny Mainz announced the addition of Ann Selim to the Crimson Tide roster for the 2017-18 season. Selim, a Cairo, Egypt native, comes to Tuscaloosa after spending her freshman season at Oklahoma.
"We are looking forward to Ann Selim's arrival to the Capstone," said Mainz. "Ann is a solid addition to our Alabama team. She brings a very competitive, disciplined mentality to our program and has proven she's a tenacious competitor. Ann's experience and steadfast attitude will provide a spark to our Bama team."
Selim was ranked a five-star recruit out of the state of California according to TennisRecruiting.net. She was ranked as high as No. 32 nationally and No. 8 in the state of California coming out of high school.
As a freshman, Selim posted a 2-2 singles record in the 2016 fall season, while compiling a 12-4 singles mark in the spring season. She registered a 1-0, 5-3 and 6-1 record from the No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions. Selim went on to collect an 8-5 record in doubles play during the dual-match season.
