Mazen Osama will participate in the singles bracket as well as the doubles draw with partner Spencer Richey
INDNAPOLIS – The Alabama men's tennis team will be represented in the NCAA singles and doubles championships for the sixth straight season, led by sophomores Mazen Osama and Spencer Richey. All matches will take place at the Dan Magill Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., from May 24-29.
Osama's regular season performance earned him an at-large bid to the singles bracket. Earlier today, he was named First Team All-SEC. Osama is currently nationally ranked No. 27 in singles, and he leads the team for the most singles wins and singles victories since the start of the dual match season with 19 and 16, respectively. He has tallied eight wins over nationally ranked singles opponents this year.
Osama and Richey earned an at-large bid to this year's doubles brackets. The duo is currently nationally ranked No. 12 in doubles, after registering a team-best 13 wins since the start of the spring season.
All matches will be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and seven-point tiebreaker (first to seven points, must win by two points) at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.
The tournament draw will be announced at a later date.
