Alabama Rowing Places 30 on Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team

IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its 2017 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing team Wednesday, with 30 Alabama student-athletes finding a spot on the list, including 27 first-team honorees.
Twenty of the 176 rowing honorees between the league's eight affiliate schools posted perfect 4.0 GPAs and, for the second-straight year, Alabama led the league with six of those 20 perfect GPA's. The second team consists of student-athletes with a GPA between 3.00-3.19 while the first team award winners hold GPAs of 3.20-plus.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA or higher and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's contests. Freshmen and transfers in their first year of academic residence are not eligible. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
