Alabama Swimming and Diving Takes a Pair of Top-25 Finishes at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The Alabama swimming and diving team posted a pair of 25th-place finishes at the 2017 Women's NCAA Championships at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis on Friday.
Junior Mia Nonnenberg took 25th in the 400 individual medley after touching the wall with a time of 4:10.81. Having already competed in the 500 freestyle, Nonnenberg will close out her third NCAA championships appearance with the 1,650 freestyle on Saturday.
In the 200 medley relay, the quartet of sophomores Katie Coughlin and Emma Murray and juniors Hannah Musser and Bailey Scott combined to post a 1:38.70 to take 25th place.
Scott anchored the relay with a 21.67, one of the fastest 50 relay splits in school history, just off the 21.42 she anchored the school-record 200 medley relay with at the Southeastern Conference Championships. Scott will close out her 2017 NCAA championships stint with the 100 freestyle on Saturday.
Saturday's prelims get underway at 10 a.m. ET, while finals are set for 6 p.m. ET.
