Alabama Women’s Basketball Opens SEC Play with No. 16/16 Missouri on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team (10-3) will tip off the Southeastern Conference portion of its schedule on Sunday when it hosts No. 16/16 Missouri (12-1) at Coleman Coliseum. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. CT start.

• The Crimson Tide is led in scoring and rebounding by senior Ashley Williams, who averages 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest, while sophomore Jordan Lewis leads the way in assists with 4.0 per game.
• Sophomore Ashley Knight leads the team and ranks third in the SEC and 10th nationally in blocks per game with an average of 2.92.
• As a team, the Crimson Tide is averaging 70.3 points per game, 15.6 more than its opponents, and is outrebounding the opposition 43.7-36.8

SCOUTING MISSOURI
• Missouri enters Sunday's game with a 12-1 record. The Tigers dropped their season opener by just three points and have won all 12 games since then.
• Missouri is led in scoring by junior Sophie Cunningham, who is averaging 18.6 points per game. Fellow junior Cierra Porter is averaging a double-double of 11.2 points and 10.2 rebounds.
• As a team, the Tigers allow the fewest rebounds per game in the league, and second fewest in the nation, as opponents are collecting 29.9 per game.
• Missouri is coached by Robin Pingeton, who is in her eighth season at the helm. She was named 2017 SEC Coach of the Year and has led the Tigers to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances.
