
Alabama Women’s Basketball Continues Home Stand with SMU on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Sunday when it hosts SMU at Coleman Coliseum. The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. CT.
THE BROADCAST
• Sunday's game will stream live on SEC Network + via the WatchESPN app. Eli Gold (play-by-play) and Rick Moody (analyst) will be on the call.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.

OPENING TIP
• Alabama will play its first of three games in four days on Sunday when it welcomes the SMU Mustangs to Coleman Coliseum.
• Amber Richardson and Jasmine Walker are eligible for competition for the first time since transferring midyear during the 2016-17 season.
• The Crimson Tide enters Sunday's game with a 4-0 record at home this season and is outscoring opponents by an average of 25.5 points per game (75.8-50.2) in Coleman Coliseum.
• Alabama holds a 1-0 record in the series with SMU having won the lone prior matchup, 85-69, at the Torneo Cancun de Basquetbol in Cancun, Mexico, on Dec. 21, 2001.
SCOUTING ALABAMA
• Alabama enters Sunday's game with a 6-3 overall record following last week's win over Grambling State.
• The Crimson Tide is led in scoring by senior Hannah Cook, who averages 13.1 points per game. Fellow senior Ashley Williams is averaging a team-best 7.1 rebounds per contest, while sophomore Jordan Lewis leads the way in assists with 3.5 per game.
• Sophomore Ashley Knight leads the team and ranks third in the SEC and 12th nationally in blocks per game with an average of 2.89.
• As a team, the Crimson Tide is averaging 70.1 points per game, 14.1 more than its opponents, and is outrebounding the opposition 42.8-36.2.
SCOUTING SMU
• SMU heads into Sunday's contest with a 4-5 overall record after winning three of its last five games.
• The Mustangs are holding opponents to only 57.9 points per game, ranking 53rd in the NCAA in scoring defense.
• Senior McKenzie Adams leads SMU in scoring with an average of 19.9 points per game, while sophomore Dai'ja Thomas tops the team in rebounds with 7.8 boards per contest. Senior Mikayla Reese leads the Mustangs in assists with 4.0 per game.
• SMU is under the direction of second year head coach Travis Mays, who holds a record of 22-20. Mays is no stranger to the SEC after assistant coaching stops at Georgia and LSU.
SEC GRADUATE PATCH
• Three Crimson Tide student-athletes now have the SEC Graduate patch on their jerseys following December commencement. Ashley Williams earned hers a season ago, while Hannah Cook and DaiJia Ruffin added theirs for today's game after graduating on Dec. 16.
