Alabama Swimming and Diving Set for Georgia Tech Invitational

The Crimson Tide will compete in prelims and finals over the three-day event in Atlanta
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama men's and women's swimming and diving teams hit the road this week for the Georgia Tech Invitational, which will run November 16-18 in Atlanta, Ga. at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
The Crimson Tide will be joined by Georgia Tech, Auburn, Florida State and South Carolina among other schools in the three-day event. Prelims will start each day at 10 a.m. ET, with finals getting underway at 5:30 p.m. ET.
After starting the season with a series of dual meets, this will be the Crimson Tide's first invitational of the 2017-18 season, with a format in line with postseason competition.
The men's team has been led in the early part of the season by junior Laurent Bams, who is ranked third in the NCAA in the 100 breaststroke and eighth in the 100 butterfly, as well as senior Luke Kaliszak, who is ranked fifth in the 100 backstroke and 11th in the 100 butterfly. Junior Robert Howard comes into this weekend ranked eighth in the 100 freestyle and 16th in the 200 freestyle while senior Christopher Reid is currently 10th in the 20 backstroke.
Other Tide men ranked in the top-25 nationally heading into the weekend include: senior Will Freeman (200 butterfly/13th), sophomore Daniel Kober (1,650 freestyle/16th), Zane Waddell (50 freestyle/20th and 100 freestyle/23rd) and freshman Alex Robinson (1,650 freestyle/20th).
On the women's side, freshman Flora Molnar and senior Mia Nonnenberg lead the charge for the Tide. Molnar is ranked nationally sixth in the 100 butterfly, eighth in the 50 freestyle and 15th in the 100 freestyle at this point in the season. She is also the nation's top-ranked freshman in all three events. Nonnenberg is ranked 10th in the 1,650 freestyle and 12th in the 400 individual medley.
Other Tide women ranked in the top-25 nationally heading into the meet include: senior Bailey Scott (50 freestyle/11th), junior Justine Macfarlane (200 breaststroke/16th and 100 breaststroke/17th), senior Hannah Musser (100 butterfly/19th) and freshman Leonie Kullmann (200 freestyle/24th).
