BRIMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama men's basketball players Collin Sexton and Braxton Key have been selected to the Southeastern Conference coaches preseason All-SEC second team, it was announced on Friday.
The Crimson Tide was one of six schools from across the league with two selections, joining Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
Sexton added to his growing list of preseason accolades with Friday's announcement. The freshman guard from Mableton, Ga., was tabbed first team preseason All-SEC by the media and also was named to the Cousy Award, Oscar Robertson Trophy and Naismith Trophy Watch Lists.
Key, a sophomore forward, earned SEC All-Freshman honors a year ago after leading the Crimson Tide in scoring (12.0 ppg) and minutes (29.8 mpg) per game. Furthermore, the Charlotte, N.C., native ranked second on the team in assists (2.5 apg) and rebounding (5.7 rpg), while ranking third in blocked shots (21).
The coaches' preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC Head Men's Basketball Coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
