Top-Ranked Alabama Men’s Golf Closes Fall Campaign at Steelwood Collegiate

Crimson Tide set to play 36 holes Saturday, followed by 18 holes on Sunday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 1-ranked Alabama men's golf team will return to action when it competes at the Steelwood Collegiate this weekend, which will mark the final tournament of the fall season. The two-day, 54-hole event will be held in Loxley, Ala., on the par 72, 7,096 yard Steelwood Country Club.
The tournament will begin with 36 holes on Saturday, followed by 18 holes on Sunday. Alabama joins No. 8 Kentucky as the only ranked teams in the 12-team field, which also includes host South Alabama, Kennesaw State, Lamar, Liberty, Rice, Richmond, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy and Wofford.
Alabama's starting lineup will include junior Davis Riley, who will be playing in the top slot. Joining Riley will be seniors Lee Hodges, Jonathan Hardee and Steven Setterstrom, while true freshman Davis Shore rounds out the Tide's starting five. Freshman Wilson Furr and sophomore Alex Green will also get their first action of the year, playing as individuals in the event.
The Tide has had a terrific fall season. Over its three previous tournaments this fall, Alabama boasts a 37-1-1 record and has two first-place finishes with its only loss coming to No. 2 Texas A&M. In addition, Alabama has faced 13 of the other top-25 squads in its three tournaments and holds a 15-1-1 record against such teams. The team is 27-under par for the season and averages a score of 279.7 per round.
The Crimson Tide will begin its round with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT off hole No. 1 and will be paired alongside South Alabama and Kentucky. Live stats throughout the event can be found on Golfstat.com.
