Alabama Women’s Golf Wraps up Fall Schedule at The Landfall Tradition

Top-ranked Crimson Tide seeking fourth top-two finish in four outings this season
TUSCALOOSA Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team will play its final tournament of the fall schedule this weekend at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington's The Landfall Tradition, Oct. 27-29 at the par-72, 6,166-yard Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
This year's tournament field includes Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Furman, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina-Wilmington, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, UCF and Virginia.
Alabama Line-up
Alabama's line-up this weekend is unchanged from the first three tournaments of the sesaon: Senior Lakareber Abe (70.89 scoring average), juniors Cheyenne Knight (70.56) and Lauren Stephenson (67.97), sophomore Kristen Gillman (68.58) and freshman Angelica Moresco (72.72). Senior Nicole Morales will also compete this weekend as an individual.
National Rankings
Alabama boasts two of the nation's top three-ranked golfers and four of the top 31 heading into this weekend's action. Lauren Stephenson (first), Kristen Gillman (third), Cheyenne Knight (24) and Lakareber Abe (31) are ranked in the latest Golfstat Statistical Rankings, released Oct. 24.
As a team, Alabama is ranked first nationally by Golfstat with a 70.09 rating. Arkansas is No. 2 with a 71.02 rating, followed by the Duke (71.16), South Carolina (72.18), Arizona State (72.53) and UCLA (72.53). Stephenson and Gilman are ranned No. 3 and No. 7, respectively in the most-recent Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index with Knight (51) and Abe (61) also appearing in the ratings. Alabama (69.63) checks in at No. 2 in the Golfweek/Sagarin team rankings. Arkansas (69.56) is No. 1, followed by the Tide, UCLA (69.78), Duke (70.11) and Arizona State (70.44).
Last Outing
The Crimson Tide finished second at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Tide shot 30-under par (285-279-270/834) to finish with the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in school history. UA's final round 19-under par 270 ranks as the second-lowest vs. par and the third-lowest single-round score in school history.
