The Crimson Tide’s practices and scrimmages will be open to the public
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama head coach Greg Goff will begin fall practice next Monday, Sept. 12, as the Crimson Tide will begin its full-team offseason training. The fall season will be highlighted as the team hosts a total of 17 intrasquad scrimmages – all of which will be open to the public – leading up to the Fall World Series to close out camp.
Monday's on-field session will mark Goff's first official full team practice since arriving at the Capstone back in June. The Crimson Tide has spent the past few months working in the weight room and doing individual on-field work to prepare for the start of fall camp.
Alabama's first intrasquad will come on Tuesday, Sept. 13, followed by a scrimmage on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17. The team will face off in scrimmages every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday for the following three weeks through Oct. 11.
The Tide will host its annual Scout Day on Wednesday, Oct. 12, where the team will invite scouts from all 30 Major League organizations to come watch UA's draft-eligible players perform against one another. Following Scout Day, the Crimson Tide will play three more scrimmages on Friday, Oct. 14, Saturday, Oct. 15, and finally on Tuesday, Oct. 18. After the final intrasquad contest, the team will be broken up into two teams who will face off for the Tide's Fall World Series from Friday, Oct. 21 through Sunday, Oct. 23.
All scrimmage dates are subject to change, with start times to be determined at the beginning of each week. The amount of innings and pitches per game is to be determined as fall camp progresses. Spotted in between scrimmages are regularly scheduled weekly practice sessions for the entire team. Dates and times of all practices and scrimmages for the upcoming week can be found on RollTide.com at the beginning of the week each Monday.
Admission will be free for fans who are interested in watching the scrimmages. Fans are asked to enter Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gate (Gate 3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, fans are encouraged to stay in the lower bowl seating area, as access to the upper levels of the stadium is restricted.
