Alabama Coaching Staff Recognizes 10 Players of the Week for Football

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama coaching staff recognized 10 players following last Saturday's 52-6 victory over the No. 20 USC Trojans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Damien Harris, Cam Robinson, ArDarius Stewart and Jonah Williams were selected on offense, Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster and Marlon Humphrey on defense, and Minkah Fitzpatrick, Adam Griffith and JK Scott on special teams to round out the week one list.
Harris had a career game against the Trojans, using nine carries to rush for a team-leading 138 yards, with long rushes of 46 and 73 yards. Robinson and Williams – who made the start at right tackle in his first collegiate game – helped open the holes for Harris, with Robinson grading out at 88 percent to lead the Tide offensive line and not allowing a sack, pressure or penalty. Stewart registered a career day, hauling in four catches for a career-high 113 yards and two scores. His 71-yard catch and score was the longest reception of his career, while his other touchdown came on a 39-yard reception.
The defensive unit, led by Allen, Foster and Humphrey, limited the Trojan offense to 194 total yards, zero touchdowns and only six points. Allen finished his day with four tackles, including two sacks for a loss of -15 yards. The multi-sack game was the sixth of his career and pushed his career total to 20.0, ranking him seventh all-time in UA history. Foster had four tackles, including one for a loss, and made his presence known with some huge hits throughout the night. Humphrey finished with two tackles, one for a loss, and added a pick-six late in the second quarter that gave Alabama a 17-3 advantage heading into halftime.
Fitzpatrick contributed one tackle on special teams and helped keep USC returner Adoree' Jackson in check on kickoffs. Griffith made his only field goal attempt on the night from 29 yards out and went a perfect 7-of-7 on extra points. On kickoffs, the redshirt senior averaged 63.1 yards per kick with four touchbacks, kicking off nine times for a 568 total yards. Scott helped flip the field for the Crimson Tide throughout the game, punting five times for 235 yards to average 47.0 yards per punt, and had three punts of 50 or more yards with a long of 54. He finished the night placing three punts inside the Trojans' 20-yard line, including his 54-yard boot that landed out of bounds at the USC 2-yard line.
