
Alabama Softball to Host Fan Day Picnic at Rhoads Stadium Thursday, Sept. 29

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball fans can get a sneak peek at the 2017 team this Thursday, Sept. 29 as the Bama Softball Walk-Off Club hosts a fall Picnic at Rhoads fan day at 3 p.m. CT.
Fans can come watch practice, which begins at 3 p.m. CT, as well as tour the indoor practice facility. Following practice, head coach Patrick Murphy will introduce the team to the crowd and fans will have the opportunity to meet the coaches and players. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase courtesy of the Bama Softball Walk-Off Club. Fans interested in supporting the team's official booster club will have the opportunity to sign up for the Bama Softball Walk-Off Club at the event.
This season, the Crimson Tide returns 14 players from last year's team, including All-American pitcher Sydney Littlejohn and SEC All-Freshman catcher Reagan Dykes. New additions to the team this season include freshmen Elissa Brown (Eclectic, Ala.), Gabby Callaway (San Diego, Calif.), Bailey Hemphill (Lafayette, La.) and Claire Jenkins (Cullman, Ala.).
Last season, Alabama made its 11th Women's College World Series appearance, finishing sixth nationally with a 51-14 record. The Tide coaching staff was named the NFCA South Region Coaching Staff of the Year for the 10th time in program history, led by Murphy who enters his 19th season at the helm of the team this year.
In addition to Thursday's practice, fans can watch the Tide at eight exhibition games during the month of October at Rhoads Stadium. Tickets to each of the four doubleheaders are just $5.
