Alabama Men’s Golf in Seventh After Two Rounds of Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational

Crimson Tide improves three spots from Friday’s opening round
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – The Alabama men's golf team carded a team score of 289 during Saturday' second round of play at the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational and improved three spots on the leaderboard. With a seven-stroke improvement from Friday's opening 18 holes, the Crimson Tide comes into Sunday's final round in a tie for seventh overall with a team score of 585 (296-289).
Sophomore Davis Riley continues to pace the way for the Tide. After carding a 2-under par 68 on Saturday, Riley finished the second round with 4-over par 74 and is in a tie for 10th overall with a 36-hole total of 2-over par 142 (68-74).
Junior Lee Hodges carded the team's low round of the day at even par 70 on the 7,205-yard Olympia Field Country Club North Course. Hodges ended the day in a tie for 24th with a two-day total of 6-over par 146 (76-70).
Redshirt freshman Josh Sedeno (77-72) and junior Tyler Hitchner (76-73) are tied for 43rd place with each carding a 149, while junior Steven Setterstrom rounds out the Tide golfers in a tie for 65th with a 154 (76-78).
Tournament host and third-ranked Illinois (554) is in control heading into Sunday's final round, owning a 21-stroke lead over second place Texas A&M (575). Oklahoma State (577), ranked No. 4 in the nation, is in third, followed by North Carolina (579) and No. 18 Florida State (580) to round out the top five, respectively.
Alabama will tee of the third and final round at 8 a.m. CT on Hole No. 10 and will be paired alongside UNLV and Texas.
