Alabama Football Practices in Shells for the First Time in 2016

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team practiced in shells for the first time during fall camp in Saturday's midday session on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

Saturday's practice was the third consecutive practice in a line of 28 practices for the Crimson Tide before the team heads to Arlington, Texas, to face off with the Southern California Trojans on Sept. 3. The two teams will meet inside AT&T Stadium for the AdvoCare Classic with the game set for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff on ABC.

Practice began at 2:30 p.m. CT with the team taking part in drills during the two-hour period. The Tide will head to Bryant-Denny Stadium tomorrow for the team's annual Fan Day with open practice scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. and lasting two hours. Practice will be followed by an autograph session featuring the Crimson Tide players and coaches that begins at 4:45 p.m. and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
