TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - More than 20 Crimson Tide student-athletes are slated to receive their degrees Saturday during The University of Alabama's summer commencement activities. The August graduates boost the Athletic Department's 2015-16 total over 125.
Among the Crimson Tide's summer graduates are five who earned Master's degrees, including All-Americans Lauren Beers (gymnastics) and Nia Barnes (track and field), as well as Jake Hubbard (baseball), Nura Hussein (rowing) and Kryssi Daniels (volleyball). Steven Gayle (track and field) also earned All-America honors during his Alabama career.
Also among this summer's graduates, Beers, Barnes and Sydney Littlejohn all earned Academic All-America honors during their Alabama tenures, while Katelyn Greenleaf (track and field) was named Academic All-District.
Littlejohn, a freshman on Alabama softball's 2014 SEC Championship squad, finished up her undergraduate degree in three years and will pursue a graduate degree during her senior season. Robby Prater, who is set to graduate this weekend, was a member of Alabama's 2013 and 2014 Southeastern Conference and NCAA Championship teams.
