
Alabama Rowing Adds James Mulcahy to Coaching Staff

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama rowing head coach Larry Davis has announced the addition of James Mulcahy to the Crimson Tide coaching staff. Mulcahy arrives from Brockville, Ontario, Canada and most recently served as the junior and high performance coach with the Argonaut Rowing Club.
"We are very fortunate to add James to our staff," Davis said. "He comes to Alabama with great coaching credentials, having had success with athletes on both the national and international level. James' skills and technical knowledge will be a great asset in helping our program develop to the next level. His experience will also be very important in expanding our recruiting efforts, especially internationally."
Mulcahy's athletes at the Argonaut Rowing Club earned 28 medals at the 2015 Provincial Championships, six at the 2015 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta and four at the 2015 Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships. Mulcahy also coached Team Canada at both the 2015 and 2016 CanAmMex Regatta. He previously served as the varsity women's rowing coach at the University of Toronto and as the head coach of the Saskatoon Rowing Club.
Mulcahy was a competitive rower from 2000-08, lettering for four years at Columbia (2005-08) and serving as captain of the Columbia University Varsity Heavyweight Crew during his final three years.
