Alabama's Margy McCarthy Finals at NCAA Zone B Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. - Alabama diver Margy McCarthy earned a spot in the finals of the women's 3-meter springboard on day two of the NCAA Zone B Championships being held in Atlanta, Ga. this week.
McCarthy, a freshman, was 14th following the preliminary round after scoring 283.55 points over six dives. She tallied 259.90 points over her final six dives, totaling 543.45 points and taking 18th place overall.
In prelims, sophomore Kara Fredlock took 21st (271.65 points), junior Taylor Zablocki was 27th (263.90 points), freshman Ayanna Woods took 34th (241.65 points), sophomore Dakota Toner finished 40th (216.65 points) while freshman Christina Lu was 44th (199.00 points).
In the prelims of the men's 1-meter springboard, junior Brent Sagert took 25th (262.80 points), junior Dylan Marin was 31st (252.85 points) while sophomore David Morton finished 35th (229.40 points).
Sagert qualified for the NCAA Championships on Monday after taking sixth off the 3-meter board.
