Alabama Diver Brent Sagert Earns NCAA Championship Berth

ATLANTA, Ga. - Alabama's Brent Sagert finished sixth off the 3-meter board on the first day of the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships being held in Atlanta, Ga., this week to earn his first berth at the NCAA Championships.
The junior from St. Albert, Canada was fifth after the preliminary round of dives, advancing to the finals with 372.80 points. He came back in finals to score 372.90 over his last six dives for a combined score of 745.70 points, which earned him sixth place overall and one of Zone B's 10 NCAA Championship slots available in the 3-meter competition.
Junior Dylan Marin was 15th off the 3-meter board after scoring 651.00 points between prelims and finals. In prelims, sophomore David Morton took 27th off the 3-meter board after scoring 291.10 points over six dives. All three men will compete on Tuesday off the 1-meter board.
On the women's side of the meet, junior Taylor Zablocki finished 15th in finals after tallying 525.45 points over 12 dives. In prelims, junior Dakota Toner was 23rd overall with 249.55 points, freshman Margy McCarthy was 36th (228.80 points) and freshman Ayanna Woods was 41st (213.00 points). The women will compete off the 1-meter board on Tuesday.
