Alabama Softball Remains Sixth in Week Six NFCA Poll

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama Softball is ranked No. 6 for the third-straight week in the USA Today/NFCA coaches' poll, while dropping two spots to No. 8 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball media poll.
The Crimson Tide was ranked sixth last week in both polls. Alabama is coming off a 4-1 weekend at the Easton Tournament in Fullerton, Calif., with wins over Cal State Fullerton, Grand Canyon, New Mexico and DePaul before a 2-0 loss in the weekend finale to No. 13 Oklahoma.
Texas A&M makes its first top-10 appearance in the coaches' poll this week after a series victory over LSU, rising from No. 11 to No. 8 while the Tigers dropped from No. 4 to No. 7. The Aggies made a more sizeable jump in the media poll, rising from No. 10 all the way to No. 4. A series sweep by Oregon over Washington allowed the Ducks to jump three spots from No. 7 to No. 4 in the coaches' poll
In total, 10 SEC schools are represented in the top 25 this week, the most of any conference: Florida (1/1) Auburn (3/3), Alabama (6/8), LSU (7/6) Texas A&M (8/4), Georgia (12/T12), Kentucky (15/T12), Missouri (16/15), Tennessee (16/19) and Mississippi State (RV/25). Ole Miss is receiving votes outside the top 25 in both polls.
