TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama coaching staff recognized five players and the entire defensive unit following the Crimson Tide's 10-0 shutout victory in Baton Rouge over LSU last Saturday. Bradley Bozeman, Cam Robinson and Bo Scarbrough were selected on offense, and JK Scott and Keaton Anderson were the honorees on special teams to go with the defensive unit.
The offensive line duo of Bozeman and Robinson helped clear a path for 216 yards in the rushing attack. Robinson posted a grade of 87 percent without allowing a quarterback hurry or a sack, while Bozeman anchored the line, making all the calls from the center position despite a loud and raucous crowd in Baton Rouge. The offensive line helped Alabama average 4.2 yards per carry against one of the nation's best rushing defenses and allowed Jalen Hurts to eclipse the 100-yard rushing mark for the third time this season with 114 yards on the ground. Scarbrough accounted for 52 rushing yards on 11 carries, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. The tailback's bruising running style helped the Tide break through on offense and his 10-yard rush to the outside on 4th-and-1 extended the Tide's go-ahead drive that finished with a Hurts 21-yard rushing touchdown.
Alabama's defense stifled the LSU offense, limiting the Tigers to only six first downs and 125 yards of total offense. The defense recorded five sacks and limited a 15th-ranked LSU team to just 33 rushing yards on 27 total attempts. Reuben Foster led the way with 11 total tackles, while Marlon Humphrey helped shut down the Tigers' passing attack and finished with eight tackles. Dalvin Tomlinson (six tackles, 1.5 TFL), Ryan Anderson (six tackles, 1.0 sacks), Tim Williams (1.5 TFL) and Jonathan Allen (three tackles, 1.0 sacks) were all in on the Tide's five sacks and helped contribute to defense's nine tackles for loss.
Scott punted five times for 258 yards for an average of 51.6 yards per punt. The junior punter netted 44.4 yards on his five punts with two punts pinned inside the Tigers' 15-yard line, including a 54-yard punt in the third quarter that was fielded and dropped at the LSU 3-yard line. He added a season-long of 66 yards while helping keep the Tigers in favorable field position all evening. Anderson helped limit the Tigers to just 16 punt return yards while also recording a key tackle in the third quarter coming off a Scott punt to pin the Tigers' at their own 3-yard line.
