TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's tennis' No. 34 ranked doubles pair in senior Erin Routliffe and sophomore Andie Daniell is set to compete in the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. The four-day event is held in Flushing, N.Y., at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and is set to start on Thursday, Nov. 3.
The USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships is the fourth national championship of the 2016-17 ITA National Tournament calendar. Earlier this fall, national champions were crowned at the Men's and Women's All-American Championships, the Oracle ITA Masters and ITA Oracle Cup.
Routliffe and Daniell will square off against Southeastern Conference foe Lesedi Jacobs and Justina Mikulskyte of Kentucky at 12:15 p.m. CT on Thursday. If the duo tops the Wildcats' doubles pair, they will play again on Thursday, facing Maegan Mansse and Denise Starr of California in the second round at 3:30 p.m. CT.
"I am really excited," said Routliffe. "Andie and I are really excited to go, and it's a great way to end the fall with it being our last fall tournament."
