Crimson Tide and Bisons to tip off at 7 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Crimson Tide women's basketball team (2-0) returns to the court for its third game in a week when it hosts the Lipscomb Bisons on Thursday in Coleman Coliseum at 7 p.m. CT.
PROMOTIONS

THE BROADCAST
- Thursday's game will be broadcast on SEC Network + with Chris Stewart on play-by-play and Rick Moody as the analyst.
- The game will also be available via the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 100.1 FM locally, with Roger Hoover and Tyler Williams calling all the action.

OPENING TIP
- Alabama is playing its third of three home games in a week's span today. The Tide opened the season on Friday, Nov. 11, against New Orleans and took on Mississippi Valley State on Monday, Nov. 14.
- Alabama has had five student-athletes finish in double figures in each of its two games this season.
- The Tide is led in scoring and rebounding by freshman Jordan Lewis, who is currently averaging 16.0 points and 7.5 assists. She and junior Meoshonti Knight are tied for the team's lead in assists with 3.0 per contest.
- Jordan Lewis was named SEC Freshman of the Week on Tuesday following her performances against New Orleans and Mississippi Valley State. She is the first from Alabama to earn the league's rookie of the week award since Ashley Williams did so in 2014.
THE SERIES
- The Tide and Bisons are meeting for the third time overall and second in as many seasons.
- In last season's matchup, Alabama came away with a 68-49 victory on Dec. 28, 2015. Hannah Cook led the way with 20 points and seven rebounds for the Tide.
- Alabama won the series opener, 78-50, in Nashville on Jan. 24, 1986.
ABOUT LIPSCOMB
- Lipscomb enters Thursday's game with an 0-2 overall record after losses at Loyola Maryland (74-30) and Ole Miss (76-49). This will be the Bisons' third consecutive road contest to open the 2016-17 season and second straight against a Southeastern Conference team.
- As a team, the Bisons are averaging 39.5 points and 34.5 rebounds per contest while allowing 75.0 points and 40.5 rebounds to their opponents.
- Lipscomb is led in scoring by freshman Kaylee Cotton, who averages 9.5 points per game. The Bisons' leader in rebounds is junior Laure Assena at 4.5 boards per contest.
- Lipscomb is under the direction of Greg Brown, who is in his fifth season with the Bisons. He has had individuals win two Atlantic Sun All-Conference honors, three Atlantic Sun All-Freshman honors as well as an Atlantic Sun Newcomer of the Year award. Prior to taking over at Lipscomb, Brown had assistant coaching stops at Central Florida (2007-2012) and Tennessee (2003-04).
BALANCED OFFENSE
- One of Coach Curry's team goals for the season is to have at least four in double-figure points each outing. The Crimson Tide surpassed that goal in both games this season as five recorded 10 or more points in the victories.
FAB FROSH
- Alabama's freshmen, Ashley Knight and Jordan Lewis, have made an immediate impact in the Tide's lineup. Lewis, who has started at point guard in both games, leads the team in scoring (16.0 ppg), rebounding (7.5 rpg) and is tied for the lead in assists (3.0 apg). Knight, the 6-5 post, averages 12.0 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game and 2.5 blocks per game.
GETTING TO THE LINE
- Alabama finished the 2015-16 season ranked 73rd in the nation in free throw attempts (615) and 77th in free throws made (430) while averaging 69.9 percent made per game. The Crimson Tide is off to another strong start getting to the line as it made 29 appearances from the stripe in the season opener against New Orleans and another 36 versus Mississippi Valley State.
#CATCHUSATCOLEMAN
- On May 31, Alabama women's basketball announced it would be returning to Coleman Coliseum starting with the 2016-17 season.
- The women's basketball team split time between Foster Auditorium and Coleman Coliseum from 1974-81, until permanently moving to Coleman from 1981-2011.
- The Crimson Tide reopened Foster with its game against Florida on Feb. 13, 2011, following an extensive renovation of the building.
- Since then, women's basketball has played all but four of its home games, which includes two season-opening doubleheaders with men's basketball and a pair of 5th Grade Fastbreak games, at Foster Auditorium.
