Alabama Women’s Tennis Competes at 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Senior Erin Routliffe and sophomore Andie Daniell competed at the doubles main draw at the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, while Routliffe went on to win in the first round of the singles main draw.
Routliffe, ranked No. 18 in singles play, defeated Alex Valenstein of Texas Tech in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, to advance to the second round. Tomorrow Routliffe will take on Hayley Carter of North Carolina at 12:45 p.m. CT.
In doubles play, Routliffe and Daniell lost to Carter and Jessie Aney of North Carolina in a match that came down to an 8-6 decision. Alabama's No. 34 ranked doubles pair is set to take on Virginia Tech's Caroline Daxhelet and Elena Cerezo-Codina in the doubles back draw bracket tomorrow at 11 a.m. CT.
