Alabama’s Andie Daniell Goes 1-1 in Qualifying Action at Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Andie Daniell posted a 1-1 mark in the qualifying singles draw as part of the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif., at the Riviera Tennis Club on Tuesday.
The talented sophomore entered the event seeded sixth in the qualifying singles draw and 33rd nationally. In the first round, Daniell topped No. 62 Denise Starr of California in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5. In the round of 32, Daniell lost to No. 110 Nria Ormeno Ruiz of Colorado in a 6-4, 6-3 decision
Alabama's No. 34 ranked doubles duo of Daniell and senior Erin Routliffe is set to participate in the main draw of doubles. Routliffe is also slated to compete in the main singles draw. Matchups for both the singles and doubles main draws, which both begin on Thursday, will be announced later in the week.
