
Alabama Softball Concludes Fall Season With Doubleheader Shutout Over Wallace State

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball concluded its fall season Sunday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium with a doubleheader sweep over Wallace State, posting 6-0 and 10-0 shutouts.
Alexis Osorio and Madi Moore split duties in the circle in a seven-inning shutout on the front end of the doubleheader, with Osorio fanning nine batters over 4.1 innings while Moore backed her up with 2.2 shutout innings and a pair of strikeouts. In the second inning, Bailey Hemphill got things started with a double and Mari Cranek, pinch-running for Hemphill, came around to score on a Sydney Booker double. In the third inning, Claire Jenkins drove in Chandler Dare from first on an RBI double and crossed the plate on another RBI double by Hemphill. Following a leadoff home run by Booker in the fourth inning, Rachel Bobo reached on a walk, stole second and third base and then crossed the plate on an RBI single by Dare. Alabama's sixth and final run of the day came in the sixth inning when Bobo drew another walk, stole second, tagged up on a fly ball and advanced to third and then scored on a groundout by Dare.
Sydney Littlejohn tossed 5.0 shutout innings with nine strikeouts in game two of the doubleheader while Moore added 1.0 scoreless relief inning. Merris Schroder scored the first run of the day in the first inning off an RBI single by Gabby Callaway after a single and a stolen base. Peyton Grantham doubled the Tide's lead in the second inning with a solo home run and the Tide tacked on two more in the third inning on an RBI groundout by Jenkins and a sacrifice fly by Reagan Dykes. Bobo entered to pinch run in the fourth following a Grantham single, advancing to second on a groundout and third on a bunt before coming home on a sacrifice fly by Hemphill. Cranek started the fifth inning with a single and, after stealing second, came home on an RBI double by Caroline Hardy. Bobo entered to pinch run for Hardy and came home on an RBI double by Jenkins. With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, Cranek scored two on a single and Callaway tacked on a third with another RBI single.
