TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball has announced January 21, 2017 as the date for its third annual Trivia & Games Night. The event is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT with doors opening at 6 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market on Jack Warner Parkway.
The event includes a buffet-style dinner, silent auction, seven innings of trivia, games and fun giveaways throughout the night as the Alabama players and coaches kick off the 2017 season. Proceeds from the event benefit the program's official booster club, the Bama Softball Walk-Off Club. Group tables can be purchased by contacting Marla Dare (mdare@uasystem.ua.edu) or Charlene Hammonds (Chammonds@tcss.net). The event, currently in its third year, has sold out each of the last two years so reservations should be made quickly.
Prizes in previous years have included press box seats to an Alabama football game, autographed Nick Saban footballs and hats, an autographed photo of Patrick Murphy and camp admission, a Westervelt Lodge hunting certificate, Yeti cooler, salon and day spa certificates and much more.
This year's featured guest speaker will be former Alabama gymnastics head coach Sarah Patterson. In her 36 seasons at the helm of the Crimson Tide, Patterson propelled the program to national prominence winning six national championships across four different decades along with eight SEC titles and an NCAA-record 29 regional championships. She also focused heavily on community involvement, most notably creating the Power of Pink initiative at Alabama that raises awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
