Alabama Divers Post Top-12 Finishes at Georgia Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Alabama divers got the New Year going at the Georgia Diving Invitational in Athens, Ga., with five top-12 finish across three events.
Junior Taylor Zablocki was fourth off the three-meter springboard after tallying 295.05 points in finals. Zablocki finished four spots better than her prelims finish in the 3-meter competition. She also finished sixth off the 1-meter board, earning 274.35 points.
Freshman Christina Lu cranked out a top-10 finish off the platform on the women's side of the meet, taking sixth place after scoring 237.30 points over five dives. Junior Dylan Marin was the top finisher in the men's platform event, taking 12th with 286.60 points.
Junior Brent Sagert took 11th in the finals of the 3-meter springboard after totaling 318.60.
While the divers take a brief respite, Crimson Tide swimmers return to action this weekend with a two-day meet against Tennessee Jan. 8-9 at the Alabama Aquatic Center. Competition starts at 4 p.m. CT on Friday and 10 a.m. CT on Saturday. Admission is free.
