Baseball to Host National Anthem Auditions
1/13/2016 12:00:00 AM | Baseball
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama marketing department will be hosting National Anthem singer auditions Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, inside Foster Auditorium from 5:30-7 p.m. in anticipation of the 2016 Alabama baseball season at the newly renovated Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The Crimson Tide require the National Anthem to be performed in a traditional manner with no styling or individual musical interpretation. The anthem should be performed in a straightforward manner with the utmost respect and honor for what the song stands for. Those auditioning are asked to please remember that the National Anthem is about honoring America and the men and women serving our country, and is not about the glorification of the individual or group performing the piece.
If selected, singers will be contacted to perform at a date to be determined for the 2016 Alabama baseball schedule. The auditions will also be for other sports at the same time as well. Those who are not considered as options for anthem singers will be contacted via e-mail at a later date.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register online using the form above. Please contact Mallory Hadaway at mhadaway@ia.ua.edu with any questions.
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased online at RollTide.com/Tickets or by calling 1-877-TIDETIX (843-3849). Fans can also purchase tickets in advance at the Alabama Ticket Office, located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum.
