TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team wrapped up its shortened practice schedule on Thursday afternoon, putting together a 90-plus minute practice focused on putting the final touches on the gameplan for Saturday's matchup with Louisiana-Monroe. The Crimson Tide spent the week's final full practice inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility and will close out the week of prep with a walkthrough on Friday.
Alabama will host ULM this Saturday, Sept. 26, for a 3:01 p.m. CT kickoff inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The non-conference matchup will air live on the SEC Network, with Dave Neal, Matt Stinchcomb and Kayce Smith calling all the action. The two teams will meet for just the third time in program history, with the Warhawks owning an official 1-0 advantage. The first matchup came in 2006 where the Tide ran away with a 41-7 win that would later be vacated by NCAA ruling. The only other contest between the two schools came the very next year, when ULM took down the Tide, 21-14, in Tuscaloosa.
Following Saturday's out-of-conference game, UA will take to the road for its first official road game of the season. Alabama will head to Athens to take on the No. 7/6 Georgia Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS. The Tide owns the series advantage, 37-25-4, and won the most recent matchup in the 2012 SEC Championship Game, 32-28. The victory propelled Alabama into the national championship where the Crimson Tide dominated Notre Dame, 41-14, earning the program's 15th national title.
