TUSCALOOSA, Ala - After Labor Day weekend and a great trip to Dallas for the Advocare Classic in AT&T Stadium, our teams couldn't be more excited for the 2015 Alabama football season! It was a great victory over Wisconsin and we are looking forward to our first game in Bryant-Denny Stadium this weekend. Early morning workouts as well as afternoon and evening practices are in full swing and have been helping in preparation for the ultimate game day experience. In addition to getting acclimated with the fall semester, our spirit squads have been keeping extremely busy.
The stunt clinic held on August 22nd in Tuscaloosa was a huge success. This one-day event was open to high school juniors and seniors and current college students. Participants worked with Alabama cheerleaders and coaching staff, learning collegiate level skills and stunts along with band cadences and the fight song. The Alabama coed and all-girl cheerleaders opened the clinic with an amazing performance, showcasing stunts, pyramids and basket tosses. Check out the link in the sidebar to view the performance! One hundred and fifty prospective cheerleaders from states all throughout the nation, including New Jersey, Connecticut, Tennessee and Oklahoma learned what it takes to become an Alabama cheerleader. Lots of talent walked through our doors and we can't wait to see what are next clinic in November brings!
Our cheerleaders also proudly participated at numerous community events this past month. Fan Day attracts thousands of people to campus to take pictures and view fabulous Bryant-Denny Stadium. We also loved the opportunity to visit the Children's Hospital in Birmingham, where we got to play and visit with the kids. Another event that we were fortunate to be involved in was the College of Continuing Studies Tailgate Kickoff. Our athletes have enjoyed giving back to the community and getting to spend time with children and fans.
Roll Tide Roll!
