Alabama Football Opens 2015 Training Camp

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team opened its 2015 training camp on Thursday afternoon with a two hour practice in helmets and shorts that began on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields and concluded inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility due to rain.
Thursday began a series of 28 practices for the Crimson Tide as it prepares for the season-opening contest with Wisconsin in the AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The matchup between the Tide and Badgers is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on ABC with the team of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Heather Cox on the call.
Alabama returns 12 starters in 2015 to a team that is ranked third overall in the Amway Preseason Coaches Poll. The Crimson Tide has put together at least 10 wins in seven consecutive seasons with three national championships (2009, 2011 and 2012) and three SEC titles (2009, 2012 and 2014).
Camp opened at 2:30 p.m. CT with the entire squad taking part in drills during the two-hour practice. The Tide will follow today's practice with 2:30 practices on Friday and Saturday before Sunday's annual Fan Day inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The team's 2:30 p.m. practice on Sunday is open to the public with players and coaches available for autographs following practice at approximately 4:45 p.m. for 45 minutes.
