"We're very fortunate to have Grayson join our program," said Husack. "He has a tremendous amount of talent and comes to Tuscaloosa with a year of college tennis on his resume. He was successful as a starter in the ACC, and I expect him to make an immediate impact to our team."
The Bradenton, Fla. native won 23 singles matches in his rookie year, making him one of only three Seminoles to finish the season with 20 or more wins. He also added another 19 in doubles playing primarily at the No. 2 position. One of his biggest victories of the season came in Florida State's upset win over No. 18 Wake Forest where he clinched the W with a 6-4 win in the third set. During tournament play, Goldin reached the semifinals of the Bedford Cup in both singles and doubles and advanced to the round of 16 at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney.
Goldin had a very successful junior career, ranking as high as No. 2 in Florida. He represented the Sunshine State at the Boys 18 National Team Championships and was a quarterfinalist at the Florida State Championships. Goldin was a finalist at several other tournaments, including the Gulfstream Boys' 18 in Delray Beach, and won gold balls in singles and doubles at the Spring National Championship.
He graduated from Florida Virtual School with a 3.85 grade point average and was a member of the Latin Honor Society.
