TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team practiced in full pads for two hours outdoors on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for this weekend's rivalry matchup with in-state foe Auburn.
The Tigers enter Saturday's game with a 6-5 overall mark and have gone 2-5 mark in SEC action. Auburn took down Idaho, 56-34, last weekend to close out its non-conference slate and has continued to improve each week. Alabama and Auburn will square off for the 80th installment of the Iron Bowl on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will air live on CBS with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson working in the booth and Allie LaForce patrolling the sidelines.
The Crimson Tide owns the 43-35-1 advantage in the long-standing series that dates back to 1893. In the most recent matchup, the Crimson Tide won a 55-44 shootout, erasing a 12-point second-half deficit to secure its spot in the SEC Championship game.
