"I'm proud of Maya and Erin for being named to the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team," said Alabama head coach Jenny Mainz. "They are truly deserving of this noteworthy accomplishment and worked hard to achieve this distinction. They did an exemplary job finishing the season strong and making Alabama history."
Routliffe and Jansen led the Crimson Tide to unprecedented success during the 2014 season. The pairing won Alabama's first national title after defeating Georgia's Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase 6-0, 6-1, and Alabama, as a team, finished the season ranked sixth in ITA Team Rankings, the highest finish in program history. Routliffe and Jansen ended the season with a 22-4 record and won their final 10 matches.
This is the second year in a row a women's duo from Alabama has been named to the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team as Alexa Guarachi and Mary Anne Daines earned the distinction in 2013.
Each year, the ITA names the All-Star team based off of its year-end rankings. The team is made up of the top men's and women's athletes from all NCAA Divisions including junior and community colleges.
