Alabama had a chance to take the doubles point, but USC would get wins on courts one and three to take a 1-0 advantage heading into singles. The Trojans' Roberto Quiroz and Nick Crystal posted an 8-2 victory on court three, however the remaining two matches were much closer. The Tide's Becker O'Shaughnessey and Daniil Proskura led eighth-ranked Yannick Hanfmann and Ray Sarmiento, 5-2, but the Trojan duo would come back to even the match at 5-5. From there, Hanfmann and Sarmiento won three of the last four games to take the match 8-6. Alabama's Sean Donohue and Stuart Kenyon led 6-5 on court two when doubles play was suspended.
In singles, USC went on to win four-straight matches for the team victory, with the clincher coming on court two. Proskura, No. 21 in the nation, and 11th-ranked Hanfmann were in a tight battle on court one, however the match would go unfinished once the team win was decided. Hanfmann had just won the first set, 7-5.
Alabama returns to action on Friday when it heads to Columbia, S.C. to take on the Gamecocks at 3 p.m. CT.
