Alabama Wraps Up Preparations for Mizzou

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The No. 1 Alabama football team worked out for roughly 90 minutes in shells inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility on Thursday afternoon as they finished preparations for Missouri.
The Crimson Tide are making its ninth appearance in the SEC Championship Game, which is the most by a SEC West school and the second most in the game's history (Florida, 10). Alabama has a 4-4 record in its previous eight appearances, including wins in each of hits pas two appearances (2009, 2012).
Saturday's kickoff inside the Georgia Dome is set for 3 p.m. (CT) on CBS. Verne Lundquist will handle the play-by-play duties with Gary Danielson as the analyst and Allie Laforce on the sidelines. The game can also be heard on the radio on the Crimson Tide Sports Network while the national radio broadcast in available on Westwood One.
After a big performance from Alabama in Saturday's Iron Bowl, Crimson Tide alumni followed with big performances on Sunday in the NFL, highlighted by 100-yard games from three Alabama greats.
In a 35-32 New Orleans Saints victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, running back Mark Ingram carried the ball 23 times for a total of 122 yards. The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner posted his longest carry of the game, a 31-yard dash to the six-yard-line, to set up what proved to be the game winning touchdown. Additionally, Ingram became the first Saints running back in the Sean Peyton era to record four 100-yard rushing games in a single season.
Fellow running back Eddie Lacy also helped his team to a big Sunday victory, as he piled up 115 yards from scrimmage in 26-21 Green Bay Packers win over the New England Patriots. The former BCS National Championship MVP set the tone for the Packers with their first 51 yards on offense - a 12-yard reception and three consecutive carries for 39 yards.
Behind a career-high 189 receiving yards for wide receiver Julio Jones, the Atlanta Falcons handed the Arizona Cardinals their third loss of the season to retain first place in the NFC South. Jones gave the Falcons their biggest lead of the game, a 17-0 advantage, with a 32-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Jones finished with nine receptions, including a 41-yard catch, as the Falcons took home a 29-18 win.
