TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The football team worked for two hours in full pads Wednesday on the Thomas-Drew Practice Field as it continued installation of the game plan for its second straight SEC road game this Saturday at Arkansas.
Saturday's kickoff against the Razorbacks is set for 5 p.m. on ESPN. Joe Tessitore will handle the play-by-play duties with Brock Huard as the analyst and Shannon Spake on the sidelines. The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network with the national broadcast.
Former Alabama players also continue to shine in the NFL. Eddie Lacy rushed for a pair of touchdowns on Thursday Night Football and C.J. Mosley recorded double-digit tackles for the second straight week.
In a 42-10 Green Bay Packers win over the Minnesota Vikings, Lacy topped the century mark for the first time this season en route to two second-half touchdowns. Lacy added 27 receiving yards in his effort, and is tied with fellow Alabama football alumnus Mark Ingram for second in the NFL with three rushing touchdowns.
In a Sunday afternoon tilt against the Indianapolis Colts, Mosley led his Baltimore Ravens with 15 total tackles (eight solo) and recorded the first interception of his NFL career. The former Butkus Award winner has racked up 49 total tackles through the first five games this season, a mark that ranks sixth in the NFL.
Marcell Dareus helped the Buffalo Bills improve to 3-2 this weekend with a big performance against the Detroit Lions. Dareus tallied five solo tackles, a forced fumble and a career-high three sacks as the Bills came away with a 17-14 victory. The fourth-year defensive tackle from Birmingham ranks third in the NFL with five sacks in as many games this season.
Other notable performances came from the Atlanta Falcons' Julio Jones, who leads the league in receptions (40) and receiving yards (552) after his third 100-yard game. Roman Harper helped the Carolina Panthers to a victory with his second interception of the season.
