TUSCALOOSA, Ala. The first two-a-day practice of Alabama's 2013 fall camp got underway on Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. with a roughly two-hour practice at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in full pads. The Crimson Tide's second practice of the day is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The morning workout took place under sunny skies with hot and humid conditions. It is the sixth practice of camp for the preseason No. 1 Alabama football team that has won three of the last four national championships.
Following Wednesday's two-a-day practice, the Tide will then hold a single workout on Thursday followed by the second two-a-day practice on Friday with the first scrimmage slated for practice No. 11 on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

**UPDATE**
"Dakota Ball was not at practice today due to a non-football related medical issue. Evaluation by our team physicians determined the need for an appendectomy and he underwent successful surgery this afternoon. We'll continue to monitor his progress and we expect him to make a full recovery."
