Football Opens 2013 Training Camp

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team opened its 2013 training camp on Friday morning with a two hour practice in shells at the Drew-Thomas Practice Fields.
Friday marked the first of 28 practices for Alabama as it prepares for the season opener against Virginia Tech on Saturday, Aug. 31, in a nationally televised game on ESPN at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
The Tide opened camp with a 9:30 a.m. practice and then the freshmen hit the practice fields for the first time in an evening session at 7:30 p.m. As a full unit, Alabama will have four two-a-day practices and two scrimmages over the course of the training camp.
